Xiaomi has officially launched its latest REDMI Note 17 Series in Malaysia, introducing four smartphone models alongside two new smartwatches and a new colour option for its REDMI Headphones Neo.

The new smartphone lineup comprises the REDMI Note 17, REDMI Note 17 5G, REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G and REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G, with the Pro Max marking the first time Xiaomi has introduced a Pro Max model under the REDMI Note series.

At the top of the range, the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G is equipped with a 10,000mAh battery, the largest smartphone battery Xiaomi has introduced to date. It supports 100W HyperCharge and 27W reverse charging.

Both the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G and REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G have also received TÜV SÜD 5-star Titan Quality Certification, covering durability, battery and other quality requirements.

The two Pro models feature IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for resistance against dust and water, while Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 provides additional protection against scratches and everyday drops.

The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 Mobile Platform, while the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G runs on the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4.

Meanwhile, the REDMI Note 17 and REDMI Note 17 5G feature 7,700mAh batteries with 45W turbo charging. Both models have also received TÜV SÜD 5-star Battery Performance Certification.

The two standard models come with IP65 dust and water resistance and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

New REDMI smartwatches

Xiaomi also expanded its wearable lineup in Malaysia with the launch of the REDMI Watch 6 Active and REDMI Watch 6 Lite.

The REDMI Watch 6 Active features a 1.85-inch AMOLED display with up to 1,200 nits of peak brightness. It has a 9.9mm-thick body weighing 26g and offers up to 18 days of battery life under light usage.

The smartwatch supports Bluetooth calling, all-day heart-rate, blood oxygen and stress monitoring, sleep tracking and women’s health management. It also offers more than 140 sports modes and IP68 dust and water resistance.

The REDMI Watch 6 Lite comes with a larger 1.96-inch AMOLED display with up to 1,500 nits of peak brightness. Weighing 27.8g, it also has a 9.9mm-thick design and offers up to 18 days of battery life under light usage.

Designed with more advanced outdoor and fitness tracking capabilities, the Watch 6 Lite features five-system GNSS positioning for route tracking without requiring a smartphone.

It also includes swim tracking powered by a 9-axis sensor, with features including stroke recognition, average speed, underwater heart-rate changes and SWOLF efficiency. The watch carries a 5ATM water-resistance rating and supports more than 150 sports modes.

REDMI Headphones Neo gets new colour

Xiaomi has also introduced a new Mist Blue colour option for the REDMI Headphones Neo, its first headphones under the REDMI lineup in Malaysia.

The headphones feature 42dB Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which automatically adjusts noise reduction according to surrounding conditions.

They also come with a triple-microphone AI call noise-reduction system and Hi-Res audio certification aimed at providing clearer calls and higher-quality audio.

First sales event on Sept 5

To mark the arrival of the REDMI Note 17 Series, Xiaomi will hold a “REDMI Boss for a Day: Meerqeen” event at the Xiaomi Store at The Exchange TRX in Kuala Lumpur on Sept 5.

Customers who pre-ordered the REDMI Note 17 Pro Series can collect their devices from 10am onwards at the store.

The first 80 eligible customers will have the opportunity to attend a special meet-and-greet session with REDMI Note 17 Series Malaysia ambassador Meerqeen.

A lucky draw will also be held, with Meerqeen selecting the winners on a first-come, first-served basis.

The REDMI Note 17 Series is currently available for pre-order through Xiaomi Stores, Xiaomi’s official website and its official stores on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop.

Open sales will begin on Sept 5 and run until Sept 30.

Xiaomi is also offering a 0% instalment plan through Atome, with an additional RM100 voucher that can be used together with existing discounts.
