Wheelcorp Premium introduces new MINI Charging Facility in Sanctuary Mall @ Eco Sanctuary.

Wheelcorp Premium has introduced a new charging facility with the latest brand expression for MINI in Kota Kemuning, offering electric vehicle (EV) owners in the area better access to charging infrastructure. Located in the Sanctuary Mall @ Eco Sanctuary – a neighbourhood mall developed by Eco World Development Group Berhad, the opening of the new facility was officiated by representatives from MINI Malaysia, Wheelcorp Premium, Eco Sanctuary as well as JomCharge.

Jayden Liew, Managing Director of Wheelcorp Premium said, “With the rising uptake of electrified vehicles in Malaysia, we – the providers of these automobiles, consider it one of our main responsibilities to ensure that sufficient infrastructure is in place to support this demand. The positive reception for Electrified Mobility in recent times, bolstered by the many initiatives by our local government, has been a welcome sight for us; and we are committed to developing the EV landscape further for our customers, alongside BMW Group Malaysia.”

Max Leong Yew Mun, Assistant General Manager at Eco Sanctuary said, “Sustainability is EcoWorld’s number one core value and we are always on the lookout to actively engage with organisations that share common sustainability goals. By supporting Wheelcorp Premium’s drive to roll out more charging facilities, we are also making good progress on our own ESG goals, which is to ensure that all EcoWorld projects have at least one EV charging station.”

The new MINI Charging Facility features two parking lots, a 50kW DC charger with two DC holders, as well as a 22kW AC charger – both powered by JomCharge.  The new facility is now open to the public at Sanctuary Mall @ Eco Sanctuary, Persiaran Eco Sanctuary, 8/3, Eco Santuari in Selangor – with a standard rate of RM1.20 per minute of use.

The new charging facility from Wheelcorp Premium is also part of BMW Group Malaysia’s strategy to develop the infrastructure needed for the charging of electric vehicles, together with like-minded local partners, dealers and key charging providers. Over 670 charging facilities have been made available by BMW Group Malaysia for EV owners here thus far, with access to over 360 of these facilities provided through partnerships with ChargEV and Yinson Greentech. The partnership with JomCharge also enables access to over 70 charging facilities, and Gentari with approximately 150 facilities. Over 100 BMW i and MINI charging facilities are also available at most authorised dealerships, as well as partnering venues across the country, with more to come as part of the strategic infrastructure expansion plan set for the year ahead.
