BMW Malaysia today commenced pre-booking for the First-Ever BMW iX2 xDrive30 in the Malaysian market, offering a uniquely versatile All-Electric Sports Activity Coupé ideally equipped for every situation.

This new Premium Sport Activity Coupe features a suite of modern, sporty design elements that give a more elegant, dynamic outlook to the vehicle. As the first all-electric iteration of the BMW X2, the First-Ever BMW iX2 xDrive30 sees digital innovation with the incorporation of a control system based on the Android Open Source, for the first time.

Elegant silhouette with a powerful presence.

The First-Ever BMW iX2 xDrive30’s rebellious appearance is first presented by its front design, which features the new redesigned closed BMW kidney grille with a black mesh grille and black high-gloss kidney frame, highlighted by the BMW Kidney Iconic Glow. The adaptive LED headlights with BMW Selective beam are accompanied by new daytime running lights with a vertically arranged light signature that provides optimum visibility for a safer drive as well as a contemporary design signature. Other than that, the front apron also comes with a black radiator grille in black high gloss.

From the side, the muscular silhouette of the First-Ever BMW iX2 xDrive30 is characterised by a gently sloping roofline, backwards-tapered windows, M high-gloss Shadow line, and long wheelbase. This is accompanied by V-spoke style 873 M Bicolour 20-inch M light alloy wheels and flush door handles to further accentuate its hallmark sportiness. As for the rear, the LED taillights are fitted as standard contributing to the First-Ever BMW iX2 xDrive30’s striking appearance which is accentuated by its distinctive high-gloss black rear spoiler.

The cockpit of the First-Ever BMW iX2 xDrive30 spotlights the fully digital, driver-oriented BMW Curved Display, with its combined, high-resolution 10.25-inch instrument display cluster and 10.7-inch control display, as the centre of attention. Along with the full-colour BMW Head-Up Display, which projects essential driving information into the driver’s line of vision, wireless charging tray with a built-in cooling system, front armrest with integrated control panel, automatic tailgate operation and the Harman Kardon Hi-Fi speaker system, the First-Ever BMW iX2 xDrive30 features advanced digitalisation that lends the cockpit an exceptionally modern appeal.

Completing the elegance of the interior are the M multifunction leather steering wheel, that enables numerous vehicle functions to be operated ultra-conveniently, the Aluminium Hexacube Pale M interior trim, the Luxury instrument panel – now with a finer grain, as well as high quality “Veganza” leather-alternative upholstery with contrast stitching. Standard sport seats are provided for the front, which effectively envelopes the body providing a high level of support and comfort. As for the rear seats, variable loading is provided, which allows it to be folded down in a 40:20:40 split.

As the first all-electric iteration of the BMW X2, the First-Ever BMW iX2 xDrive30 arrives with one electric motor per axle. This premium SAC produces a system output of 313 hp (230 kW), inclusive of a 7 hp (5 kW) boost. The 66.5 kWh high-voltage battery in the vehicle floor generates a WLTP range of up to 449 kilometres, allowing the First-Ever BMW iX2 xDrive30 to be locally emission-free and extremely efficient. The century sprint is achieved in just 5.6 seconds, with an electronically limited, maximum speed of 180 km/h.

The First-Ever BMW iX2 xDrive30 combines sportiness and comfort through its upgraded stabiliser bearings on the front spring-strut axle and the multi-link rear axle, providing improved steering precision and roll stability; its standard actuator-like anti-roll bars (ARB), that improve traction and driving stability; its Adaptive M Suspension and M Sport Steering, which combines outstanding driving dynamics with excellent roadholding as well as a sporty and direct steering sensation; and its M Sports Brakes, ensuring optimum braking deceleration. Additionally, the First-Ever BMW iX2 xDrive30’s SPORT My Mode gives drivers increased driving dynamics potential, with extremely direct and powerful vehicle responses.

This premium SAC comes equipped with the latest charging technology for AC and DC that enables drivers to charge their First-Ever BMW iX2 xDrive30 quickly and conveniently, both at home and when out and about.  With a maximum charging power of 130 kW at a High-Power Charging station (HPC), the 66.5 kWh high-voltage battery in the new SAC takes it from 10 to 80 percent in just 29 minutes. As for AC charging via the Wallbox, the maximum charging power of 11 kW allows the First-Ever BMW iX2 xDrive30 to charge from 0 to 100 percent is 6 hours and 30 minutes. The charging processes are also made extremely convenient with the My BMW App.

State-of-the-art connectivity and intelligent systems.

The BMW Curved Display that comes as standard is powered by the latest BMW Operating System 9, featuring the advanced BMW iDrive display and equipped with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant as well as a control system with QuickSelect, which is based, for the first time, on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). This reveals an intuitive user interface with a new home screen – a flat menu that offers quick access to frequently used functions as variably configurable live widgets. The system also comes with BMW Maps, with extended functions that allows the driver to reach destinations in a more relaxed manner, and Proactive Care, connecting the driver to the BMW and allowing it to independently take care of all vehicle-related service issues.

As for sophisticated driver assistance systems, Active Guard Basis, Driving Assistant Plus and Parking Assistant Plus are available as standard for the First-Ever BMW iX2 xDrive30. The Active Guard Basis offers Lane Departure, Front Collision and Left Turning Warnings, with active steering intervention and braking function; Speed Limit Info and Assist, including anticipation and a no-overtaking indicator; and Evasion aid. The Driving Assistant Plus is a camera and radar-based assistance system offering Active Cruise Control, a Steering and Lane Control Assistant, Speed Limit Info and Assist, and Lane Departure Warning, with active steering intervention. As for the Parking Assistant Plus, it is a camera and ultrasound-based driver assistance with parking view and Remote 3D view, and a Drive and Anti-Theft Recorder. Also coming as standard is the Attentiveness Assistant, that analyses driver behaviour along with travel time to suggest the need to take a break.
