Sony Thermo Technology Inc. has launched the latest addition to its wearable thermo-device series, the REON POCKET 5, today. This fifth-generation model is now available in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the United Kingdom, alongside Japan and Hong Kong. The REON POCKET 5 (RNPK-5T) is designed to be worn at the back of the neck, providing direct cooling or warming to the body surface.
The introduction of the REON POCKET 5 marks Sony’s debut in the Southeast Asian market, following the success of its predecessor, the REON POCKET 4, in Japan and Hong Kong. The REON POCKET 4 sold 10,000 units within three days of its launch in Japan and continued to sell out for three months. Hong Kong experienced a similar enthusiastic response.

Enhanced Cooling and Longer Battery Life
The REON POCKET 5 boasts a newly designed thermo-module and heat dissipation fan, offering up to 1.5 times better cooling performance compared to previous models. It features five COOL levels and can run for up to 7.5 hours at COOL Level 4, extending battery life by 1.8 times. Additionally, operating noise has been reduced by up to 80%, making it suitable for quiet environments.
SMART COOL ⇔ WARM MODE
Sony has enhanced the “SMART COOL ⇔ WARM MODE” function, which now more intuitively adjusts to ambient temperatures by automatically switching between cooling and warming modes. This ensures maximum comfort regardless of external conditions.
The REON POCKET 5 also includes the REON POCKET TAG, equipped with advanced software that detects direct sunlight and adjusts temperatures 33% faster than previous versions. With eight sensors, this device offers precise temperature control and can operate for up to 10 hours in “SMART COOL ⇔ WARM MODE”.
Versatile for Business and Casual Settings
The REON POCKET 5 includes two types of air vent covers, catering to both business and casual styles. The business vent cover extends to the height of the collar, aligning with the neck and back, while the casual vent cover is shorter for low-collar styles, both ensuring efficient airflow.
Optional Accessories
A new compact case, designed specifically for the REON POCKET, is now available. This lightweight case provides excellent cushioning to protect the device and its accessories from shocks. It can store the device with the air vent cover attached, along with the REON POCKET TAG, USB cable, and additional air vent covers. It is compatible with models RNP-1A, RNP-2, RNP-3, RNP-4, and RNP-5.
The REON POCKET 5 is now available in Malaysia from June 18, 2024, at a suggested retail price of RM799.
